  1. There was once a man who lived in Kentucky,
    He kept his money under lock and key.
    He had a son named Ken,
    Who ran away to his den,
    And as for the key- Kentucky.

  2. There was once a man who slept a lot,
    One day he woke up feeling hot,
    He looked around,
    And cried at what he found,
    For he was in a cooking pot.

Poem - Newton's Apple

This is a short poem I wrote for a physics- poem writing competition. The poem is about the infamous "Newton's Apple" from the apocryphal story wherein an apple fell on Sir Newton's head leading him to propose the theory of gravity.   I am an apple, Just an ordinary one, I was made famous,  By Sir Isaac Newton.  As a young appling,  I dreamt to touch the sky,  But try as I might,  I just couldn’t fly.  Hanging on my branch all day long,  I gained weight and grew stronger,  Then one day my branch said,  “I can’t hold you any longer!”  On that fateful day,  I tried to fly away,  But some force pulled me down,  And Sir Newton was in town.  The gravity of it all,  Struck me during the fall.  I fell on his head,  But he seemed pleased instead.  Sir Newton ran home,  Saying gravity is the force,  And from that day on,  I have been known by all. -Anumeya Sehgal

Story - A Miracle

This is the story about a king who goes on a chase of a rare golden antelope in the hope that it's blood would cure his wife's sickness and save his son from his wounds.   Apologies for not having posted for some time now. The king had once been a wise one, but ever since his son had been severely injured in battle, and sickness had gripped his wife keeping her in pain, he had forgotten the feeling of happiness and the extreme sadness had driven away the sparkle from the king's eyes.  One day, the king's advisors brought a witch-doctor who asked for the blood of the rare golden antelope to cure the king's wife and son. Poem - My Favourite Book

This is a poem I wrote about a boy who gave away a memory, in the form of a book, to another to give that person joy like it had once given him. He gives away a memory close to his heart in the hope of helping out a person who is facing an adversity.  In the time of lockdown, There is nothing to do, The only way to travel, Is by means of a book. Going through the books, That have lain on the shelf. From a time long gone, I remember my friend. I flip through the book, And remember my childhood. I remember the time, When I was hooked. I travel the world, By the means of words. I rediscover the joy, That I had known. I wake up and see, The crisis around me, The people in darkness, The people in pain. I did what I had to, I parted with it. My favourite book, Was mine no more. I gave it to one, Who needed it more, My book is now, Not mine anymore.
